3 ways to find #limitless motivation when you need it most!

Whether you’re new to, re-starting or commencing your fitness journey or have been a workout warrior for a long time, let’s be totally honest, motivation is something that every single one of us is going to have to find at some stage. If you ask me, motivation is almost like this ‘buzz word’ that I do hear A LOT ‘I’m not motivated today’, ‘how do I find motivation?’ the list goes on!

 

BUT! My friend, I want to let you in on a little secret, there is absolutely no one size fits all approach to finding and sustaining motivation. Like anything worth having, it requires discipline, commitment and consistency- that’s for sure. But lucky for you, there are 3 really key strategies I use for myself and with my clients that time and time again really help to get those motivation juices flowing and get you pumped and ready to achieve your fitness goals!

 

1.    Play that funky music!  

Repeat after me, music is my friend! Ladies, music has the power to literally change the way you think & feel. My best piece of motivation advice? Create a motivation playlist with your favourite tunes that inspire you to move and make you feel good! It doesn’t matter if it’s filled with old school rock n roll or if you’re (like me) a bit obsessed with 80’s pop & 70’s disco hits. Put all those songs into one playlist and play that playlist prior to your workout and during it! Or play it when you find you’re just needing that little kick of motivation to get you going! Trust me, it works wonders!

 

2.    Activewear, activewear, looking so great in your active wear!

They say that diamonds are a girls best friend, but honestly, I couldn’t disagree more. Active wear is TOTALLY a girl’s best friend. If you’re finding that you lack motivation to get up and do a walk or your workout in the morning or after work, try this. Choose your most FAVOURITE pieces of active wear to wear, the ones that are bright and bold and the ones that make you feel a million dollars when you wear them. Put away the active wear that makes you feel anything less than fabulous. You’ll be amazed at what just wearing feel-good active wear can do to lift your motivation in an instant!

 

3.    Girl, you need a community!

 To me, community is everything when working towards your fitness & nutrition goals. You need someone or something to be accountable to, you need to be surrounded by those who are cheering you on and backing you all the way! When you have this, you’re more committed to turning up to your workout in the morning for instance or attending that group training session because you don’t want to let others down (it’s wired in us as humans!). Find yourself a community whether it’s our LFN Online Group Fitness community, a sports team, a friend you walk with before work. Whatever it is, find that community and hold on tight to it!
