3 Reasons why you need Pilates in your workout routine!

It’s no secret that Pilates is one of our members favourite workouts at Limitless Fitness & Nutrition!

The core work, the strength they build & the feeling of pure bliss after a class really makes it an electrifying workout! But hey, if you’re new to Pilates or want to find out what the fuss is about, you’ve come to the right spot! Let’s take a deep delve into the top 3 reasons why including Pilates into your workout routine will be a total game changer for you.

1.    You’ll improve your core strength (and be able to do things you never thought you could!)

Let me tell you this; Pilates is built on the foundations of a strong core= a strong body. So, as you could imagine, in a Pilates class, the foundation of all the moves we do have the core at the forefront. Now, that means that by the end of your 30-45 minute session you would have been working those abs, abs, abs baby & oh boy, are they going to be feeling stronger than ever! And remember, a strong core= a strong body. Things like running, doing push-ups, even picking up your groceries off the floor will all become easier when you commit to a regular Pilates practice. Enough said.

2.    You stand taller, walk more confidently & feel more stronger in yourself

Drawing on the point above, because we’re doing so much core work in Pilates, you posture will naturally start to improve. A lot of our exercises (such as triceps & shoulder presses) act to squeeze the shoulder blades back and lift the head. In doing this, you’ll start to get into the habit of keeping your shoulders back & your head high in everyday life. And you know what they say, when you stand tall, you’re automatically more confident, right? (Or did we just make that up?).

3.    Pilates improves your balance, coordination and total body stability.

Feeling a bit off balanced? Pilates can help with that! One of the things we love most about Pilates is that we work both sides of the body evenly. You’ll notice when you first start out, your body will have little imbalances on one side which is totally normal! The more you commit to the practice though (like anything!) the more balanced and coordinated you’ll find you become. We’ve had clients who’ve been unable to lift one leg & arm off the floor at once together now be able to do complicated sequences. Stick with it and you’ll be amazed at what your body can do! Not to mention, the immense sense of accomplishment in being able to do something you weren’t able to before is really, really cool!

So, feeling ready to implement some endorphins making, feel good Pilates into your life? I know you are! Lucky for you, our 8 Week Pilates Core Transform Program starts on 1st February.
